At Travis Air Force Base, the mission is clear and essential: to be America's first choice for providing rapid global mobility...to deliver military aircraft, people and equipment where and whenever they are needed.
That's a vital mission and Vulcan is proud to play a role. "We use Vulcan ovens, steamers, fryers, grills and stoves in our facilities and we are very, very happy," says Mike Nunez, an assistant manager in food operations at the sprawling base.
It is said that an army fights on its stomach and that's a statement Nunez takes seriously. "We serve over 1,500 troops, four meals a day. For us, it's all about dependability and consistency and Vulcan delivers. Putting up a closed sign is not an option," said Nunez.
